Mr Nemi :)

Growing up in an ex-pat environment, I truly understand the needs and goals of international learners.

I have over 13 years of experience in PreK, Kindergarten and Grade 1 classrooms as well as PYP KG-G5 Physical Education. Teaching by the IB Curriculum and collaborating with other teachers has given me extensive experience in implementing and applying an inquiry-based programme. I often apply the same principles to my coaching practices too.

Besides everyday teaching activities, my role in the classroom was to plan and lead the literacy and math stations with small groups of mostly EAL students and students that need additional support. The focus was on managing the difference of abilities and tailoring activities to maintain the interest of high-level students without intimidating the less skilled ones. Grading homework, recording formative and summative assessments, keeping student's portfolios. Writing detailed lesson plans and report card comments have been on the list of my duties as well.

I have been involved in many school-related assignments and committees, I instructed various After School Activities, organized Assemblies, Winter performances, Variety (Talent) Shows, Sports Days, Swimming Galas, Sports Tournaments and many other events.

I have completed several IBO and PYP in-service trainings. These trainings helped me learn a lot about differentiated and inquiry-based teaching. The acquired knowledge helps me to efficiently plan and manage my lessons.

*All of my IBO and PYP trainings are presented on my ADDITIONAL TRAININGS AND SKILLS page.
